TWO PERFORMANCES OF ‘THE SILVER BALL’ ON SUNDAY 1ST SEPTEMBR 2024 – 3PM AND 5PM
Goresdh Kernow is the annual gathering of the Bards of Cornwall. This year, for the first time since 1984, the Gorsedh takes place in Callington (Kelliwik) and will be celebrated with a week of Cornish cultural events, including music, poetry, art, dance and drama.
Prim-Raf is proud to host two Gorsedh events, ‘The Silver Ball’, a play by local playwright Anna Chorlton, and a puppet show by Mazed Tales with Sue Field.
‘The Silver Ball’ is the story of a young woman, Holly, who comes to Cornwall to see her family and to escape lockdown. While out walking on Bodmin Moor, she hears tales from local folklore and becomes unwittingly involved in the story of the Hurlers stone circle at Minions. The drama has been serialised on radio; however, this is the first time the play will be performed on stage.
